TEHRAN.(Iranart) – Mohammadreza Torktataari won the Abolhassan Najafi Award for his translation of “The Master of Petersburg”, a 1994 novel by South African writer J. M. Coetzee, the organizers announced on Tuesday.

TEHRAN.(Iranart) - Classical vocalist Homayoun Shajarian and composer Sohrab Pournazeri have staged a multimedia performance based on the Shahnameh (Book of Kings), the epic poem written by celebrated Persian poet Ferdowsi (940-1020), at Sa’dabad Complex in Tehran. The multimedia project was titled ‘Si’ (30 in Persian). The number refers to an introductory verse attributed to Ferdowsi, explaining about the long, arduous and exhausting work of composing and compiling the poem which comprises some 100,000 verse lines. The stories featured were ‘Rostam and Esfandyar,’ Rostam and Sohrab,’ and ‘Zal and Rudabeh.’ The stories were played by Sahar Dolatshahi, Bahram Radan, Mehdi Pakdel, Banipal Shomoun, Hossein Soufian, and Saber Abar.
originally published in 2004 by the American Publisher Simon & Schuster, the 304-page volume will be published in about 350 pages in Persian and cover selected points from Dylan’s long career.
Chatrang Publications in Tehran has recently released Persian versions of books by three foreign writers.
