Iranian filmmaker picked as Atlanta jury member
Tehran. (Iranart)-Iranian documentary filmmaker, storyteller and journalist, Habib Bavi Sajed, was named as a permanent member of the jury panel for Atlanta Film Festival in the US state of Georgia, slated for April 22 to May 2, 2021.
He was previously a member of the jury panel for the 10th Muscat International Film Festival. Bavi Sajed, who directed ‘Lullaby of War’ and ‘Ahmad Mahmoud,’ and has received several awards at Arabian film festivals, was the only Iranian member of the jury panel at the festival, slamcinema.ir wrote.
As the coronavirus continues to spread around the world, the festival will be held online; not only the film section, but also visual arts, photography and dramatic arts would be evaluated online.
The Atlanta Film Festival and related programming showcases the work of independent filmmakers and the festival’s screenings include narratives, documentaries, and experimental films, as well as animation, puppetry, and musical works.
In addition, the festival’s creative conference hosts educational panels and seminars for artists and audiences on topics such as female stereotypes in the film industry, puppeteering for the camera, and lighting and audio workshops. A screenwriter’s retreat will offer selected artists the opportunity to meet with producers, directors, and fellow screenwriters for mentorship and discussion of current projects.
