  • Directed by Alireza Yazdani, one of the most stunning dramas in years, Modigliani has gone on stage at the Khane Namayesh in Tehran. Amedeo Clemente Modigliani was an Italian painter and sculptor who worked mainly in France. He is known for portraits in a modern style that were not received well during his lifetime but later found acceptance.

  • TEHRAN.(Iranart) - Monday, January 11, saw the closing ceremony of the 36th edition of Fajr International Theater Fetsival in Vahdat Hall. In attendance were Culture Minister Seyyed Abbas Salehi, his deputy Seyyed Mohammad Mojtaba Hosseini, as well as the member of Majlis Culture Commission, Lawmaker Ahmad Mazani, theater managers, artists, and media representatives.

  • TEHRAN.(Iranart) – A charity exhibition is underway to raise funds for the quake victims in Kermanshah province. The event in the Hadish Building has been organized by Mojdeh and Iranshahr galleries, as well as a number of visual artists. So far it raised over $40,000 for the victims of November 11 quake that killed over 430 people and injured thousands more.

  • TEHRAN.(Iranart) -- The Museum of Contemporary Art organized a program to celebrate the 120th birthday of Abolhassan Khan Sadighi. The program included the unveiling of a bust of this Iranian sculptor master as well screening a documentary film.

  • Iranart- Marking the 84th birthday of Davoud Rashidi, an exhibition was held at the City Theatre in tribute to the late Iranian actor. Culture Minister Seyed Reza Salehi Amiri, Deputy Culture Minister for Artistic Affairs Ali Moradkhani, Lawmaker Ahmad Mazeni, Tehran City Council Ahmad Masjed Jamei, Director of Veteran Artists Institute Seyed Abbas Azimi as well as veteran actors and actresses such as Ali Nasirian, Sirous Ebrahimzadeh, Marzieh Broumand, Ali Mosafa, Ali Dehkordi and Amir Esbati were in attendance. The ceremony was moderated by daughter Leyla Rashidi, who also cut a birthday cake in memory of her father.
