TEHRAN. (Iranart) – The National Library and Archives of Iran plans to honor 40 Iranian artists who have created outstanding works about the tragedy of Ashura over the past century.

The passion play theater has a long tradition in Iran, the play of the suffering and martyrdom of Imam Hossein and his 72 companions in the day of Ashura.
