TEHRAN. (Iranart) – Hossein Zenderoudi’s painting Voute Azurée was the most expensive work sold at the 12th Tehran Auction on Friday as it fetched 32 billion rials (over $750,000).
On Friday, January 17, Parsian Azadi Hotel in northern part of Tehran played host to the 12th Tehran Auction – a two-hour event during which 118 contemporary artworks by more than 100 Iranian artists went under the hammer, grossing 310,717,000,000 billion rials ($2,537,360). The collection includes precious paintings and sculptures by renowned deceased and living artists, including Hossein Zenderoudi, Parvaneh Etemadi, Parviz Kalantari, Abbas Kiarostami, Aydin Aghdashloo and Jazeh Tabatabai.
