Check Out Mana Jalalian and Iranian Masterpieces at Leila Heller Gallery in Dubai
Iran Art: Once you approach the Leila Heller Gallery, a vibrant piece from the "Trees" series by Sohrab Sepehri gleams on the cover of the brochure for the private collection of Mana Jalalian, a well-known owner of Iranian Modern and Contemporary art. A sign directs you to go up the spiral staircase on the opposite side to view the array of Jalalian precious items.
A stunning and distinctive selection by Jalalian's personal collection is on exhibit on the top floor of the Leila Heller Gallery on Alserkal Avenue in Dubai.
These works of Iranian Modern and Contemporary art are all stunning and appealing, and they all have captured the interest of the Middle Eastern art community for over a decade.
This collection includes two pieces by Sohrab Sepehri, two works by Bahman Mohasses, a painting by Mansoor Ghandriz, a mirror work by Monir Farmanfarmaian, two pieces by Charles Hossein Zenderoudi, the piece "Heech," which translates to "Nothing," by Parviz Tanavoli, and an artwork by Reza Derakhshani. Aref Montazeri, with a modern mirror work, represents a younger generation with a work as well.
Jalalian's collection is far larger and more extensive than this, and only a portion of it has been showcased in a special showroom at Leila Heller Gallery, as is evident from reading the exhibition brochure.
Jalalian has reportedly spent the previous fifteen years assembling a collection of more than 400 works of art, which have since been displayed in Dubai, Basel, Tehran, and Vancouver. The items of art include paintings, drawings, photos, sculptures, videos, and wood engravings.
