Last Chance To See 'Brand New Ancients' At 'lawrieshabibi'

Hamra Abbas is one of famous artist of 'Brand New Ancients' exhibition at 'lawrieshabibi' gallery in Dubai.

Iranart:She participated in  'Brand New Ancients' with sculpture named Mountain 1. Mountain 1is a magnificent triptych made entirely out of lapis lazuli of iconic imagery of K2 Mountain. Captured by countless photographers, this archetypal image of white snow, rock formations and perfect blue skies has become a symbol for the quest of perfection and truth.

This exhibition includes seventeen artists . Bringing together works by seventeen artists, 'Brand New Ancients' highlights the role of contemporary art in innovating and expanding our understanding of today's world.

She was Born in 1976, Hama Abbas is an interdisciplinary artist known for her diverse practice that ranges from marble-inlay sculptures and miniature silk paintings to colour and light installations. Abbas has used Mughal architecture, religious and vernacular iconography, and portraiture to address notions of cultural memory, sexuality, and faith.

Her recent works largely focus on the aesthetics of devotion to question the ideals of truth and perfection.
