Since June 2023, about sixty masterpieces from the Capodimonte museum directed for some years by the Frenchman Sylvain Bellenger - including Parmigianino's Portrait of a Young Woman (Antea), Masaccio's Crucifixion, Giovanni Bellini's Transfiguration, Titian's Danae, the Flagellation of Caravaggio - will reach the Parisian museum, the largest in the world, for six months, for what looks like a "spectacular" comparison between two of the most important Italian art collections on the planet:

that of Naples and that of Paris.

"In 2023 the most beautiful masterpieces of the Capodimonte museum will dialogue with those of the Louvre, inside the museum, within the framework of an unprecedented device. A rich musical and cinematographic program will enrich this invitation, to definitively bring Naples to Paris for a semester" , announced the new president of the Louvre, Laurence de Cars, presenting the event at a press conference in Paris alongside Bellenger.

The two metropolises are linked by very deep relationships, which have their roots in centuries of common history.

As well as the two museums, both royal residences transformed into museums, rich in collections inherited from great sovereigns.
