Iran pavilion at Expo 2020
TEHRAN –(Iranart)- Iran Pavilion has been introduced as one of the top eight.
Iran Pavilion has been introduced as one of the top eight architectural booths at Expo Dubai. Expo 2020 Dubai will be held as a major international event from October 1st, 2021 to March 31, 2022 for 6 months with the participation of 192 countries.
The Iran's Pavilion at the Dubai Expo 2020, entitled "Shahrzad Mansion" has been designed by Iranian architectural firm Shift Process Practice, inspired by the tales of One Thousand and One Nights.
This is the second time that Iran Pavilion participates independently in this global event. The Iran's Pavilion at Expo Dubai will showcase its capabilities and achievements in the fields of tourism, mining, oil, gas and petrochemicals, technology, culture and art, medicine and industries such as copper, steel and small industries.
The Iran's Pavilion consists of 9 separate blue buildings, each of which is dedicated to a part of contemporary Iranian history. Every five days, the Iran Tourism Pavilion will introduce one of the provinces of the country with visual content. Each day, they will display seven natural and historical heritages. In addition to these cases, the Iran Pavilion hosts a corner of Shahrzad's stories every day with sound and images and displays of models of Iranian history.
The pavilion is planned to showcase each Iranian province’s strengths and assets in tourism, cultural heritage, handicrafts, as well as its natural sites, traditional ceremonial practices, and historical significance.
The Persian Gulf state has relaxed most coronavirus limitations but Expo requires face masks to be worn and for visitors over 18 to be vaccinated against, or test negative for, COVID-19.
Iran expects to reap a bonanza from its numerous tourist spots such as bazaars, museums, mosques, bridges, bathhouses, madrasas, mausoleums, churches, towers, and mansions, of which 26 being inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage list.
