Works by Iranian Artists on View in Art Dubai
TEHRAN. (Iranart) – Works by 18 Iranian artists have been put on view in the Online catalog of Art Dubai, a leading international art fair in the Middle East.
The exhibition takes place every March in Dubai. However, its 14th edition was postponed to March 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic in the world.
The fair will feature 50 galleries from 31 countries with a focus on modern and contemporary art from the Middle East, North Africa, South Asia and the Global South including ten of Dubai’s top galleries.
The Iranian galleries Khak, Saradipur and Dastan’s Basement participated in the event this year.
Dastan’s Basement is offering works by Yousha Bashir, Iman Rad, Mamali Shafahi, Taba Fajrak, Shokoofeh Khoramroodi, and Farokh Mahdavi.
Narges Hashemi, Masoud Akhavan Jam, Mojtaba Ramzi, Mandana Moghadam, kourosh shishegaran, Golnaz Fathi, and Narges Hashemi are among other Iranian artists whose works have been selected to be showcased at the exhibit.
Dastan2 Gallery have been put on view with works by Fereydoun Ave, Andisheh Avini, Reza Derakhshani, Bita Fayazi and Shizaru Studio. Saradipour Gallery also dedicates its booth to an artist and displays works by Muslim Khezri.
In addition to displaying artists ' works in the booths of various galleries, there are other programs in the 14th art of Dubai, including the Sculpture Park. Art Dubai curate a Sculpture Park featuring large-scale installations along the two water paths that surround the iconic DIFC gate. The sculpture park feature 10 artists.
Art Dubai’s video programme will be held in DIFC’s Gate Avenue; ten screening stations will show films produced by 20+ regional and international artists. Each video station will be thematically categorized to curate a specific experience for the viewer, including: Nature, Journeys, Dystopias, Conversations, Performances and Animations, among others. One of the stations will also be dedicated to the ongoing Art Dubai Portraits series, a film series in partnership with BMW Middle East, providing short perspectives into the lives and workspaces of artists that are connected to the fair through its programming or participating galleries.
At the same time, Art Week is also held across the UAE with a series of special events and exhibitions in galleries and public spaces.
The 14th edition of Art Dubai will take place under the iconic Gate Building at Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) from 29 March – 3 April 2021, in a purpose-built structure ensuring the highest COVID-19 safety protocols.
