Iran With Message of Peace at Venice Art Biennial - Hadi Mozaffari
TEHRAN –(Iranart) - Iran is set to take part in the 58th International Art Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia, dubbed Of Being and Singing, in Venice, Italy.
Of Being and Singing is commissioned by Hadi Mozaffari of the Visual Arts Affair Office and organised by Mahdi Afzali, the CEO of Institute of Contemporary Arts Developments.
Commissioner Mozafari told Honaronline that the upcoming art exhibition by Iran in Venice will relay the country’s message of peace and amenity to the international civil society.
He said: Three Iranian contemporary artists will represent Iran’s pavilion at the biennial. The program will showcase works by Reza Lavassani, Samira Alikhanzadeh and Ali Meer Azimi. The exhibition opens to the press on May 8 and to the public on May 11 at Fondanco Marcello, a known space next to Rialto.
The commissioner further explained: Mainstream media never talks about Iran’s cultural efforts to promote peace and friendship across the globe. Our participation at the biennial is intended to change all that.
He added: The artistic language and works of these three prominent Iranian artists are comprehensible by the world community. They were carefully selected by a group of Iranian artistic and academic officials who are prominent in this particular field. They are all Iranian nationals and come from different provinces in the country.
The graphic of the exhibition is designed by Reza Abedini. The program will run under the auspices of Iran’s Ministry of Culture and Guidance – Deputy of Artistic Affairs, Visual Arts Affair Office, Institute of Contemporary Arts Development, and Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art. The show is produced and sponsored by Ayandeh Bank.
