Kiarostami’s Bust Installed at Boom Gallery
TEHRAN.(Iranart) – A bronze bust of late filmmaker and photographer Abbas Kiarostami (1940-2016) was installed in the outdoor premises of Boom Art Gallery in Tehran.
Located at No. 11, West Armaghan St, Vali-Asr Ave., the gallery is now adorned with the bust made by painter and sculptor Alireza Asanlou, 43, Honaronline reported.
About his work, Asanlou said it was proposed by Boom Gallery. “When I received the order I cherished the opportunity, because in collaboration with private institutions, one can expect to produce fine and quality works.”
Asanlou has created likenesses of other renowned cultural figures such as poet, scholar, journalist and historian Malek-o-Shoara Bahar (1886-1951); actor Ezzatollah Entezami, 93; calligrapher Gholam-Hossein Amirkhani (1939-2014); graphic designer Morteza Momayez (1935-2005); master of Iranian classical music and tar virtuoso Jalil Shahnaz (1921-2013); scientist and author Fazlollah Reza, 103; and meteorologist Mohammad-Hassan Ganji (1912-2012).
