Khayyam photo exhibit in Khuzestan province
TEHRAN.(Iranart) - An exhibition of selected photos of the 4th Khayyam International Exhibition of Photography opened in Behbahan, Khuzestan Province in southern Iran on November 26.
It is organized by the Behbahan Department of Culture and Islamic Guidance in collaboration with the International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP) and also the Behbahan Photo and Film Organization.
Held in collaboration with Focus Photo Club, affiliated to the cultural institute of Khayyam House of Art, which is the executive arm of FIAP in Iran, the fourth edition of the contest ended in January.
More than 21,000 photos from 55 countries were submitted to the competition. The selected works will be presented at exhibitions in Italy, France, Spain, China, Oman, Greece, Hong Kong, Argentina, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Macedonia and South Africa.
Khayyam International Exhibition of Photography is named after the famous Persian polymath and poet Omar Khayyam (1048–1131), who wrote treatises on mechanics, geography, mineralogy, music, climatology and theology. The event organizers say they want to send a message of peace and friendship from Iranian artists to all nations.
The exhibition runs through December 2 at Mirza Shoghi Art Gallery located in Bank Melli Square, Behbahan.
