Fajr theater festival to unveil books by foreign writers
TEHRAN – (Iranart)- Persian translations of three books authored by foreign scholars on Iranian theater will be unveiled during the 37th Fajr International Theater Festival, the organizers announced on Tuesday.
“Persian Theater, Iranian Play” by French researcher Adolphe Thalasso is one of the books.
Translated by Jalal Sattari, the book is a long article on Iranian theater during the late 19th century. It was published in the French magazine “la revue theatrale” in 1905.
Also included are “Etudes Safavides” by French historian Jean Calmard, translated by Yadollah Aqa-Abbasi, and “The Awakening”, a play by Norwegian writer Julian Garner, translated by Davud Daneshvar.
The festival also plans to unveil “Theater and Revolution”, a collection of articles compiled by Iranian scholar Mehdi Hamed-Saqaian.
The 37th Fajr International Theater Festival will be held in Tehran from February 11 to 23.
