Theater troupe to perform Noruzkhani at Sangelaj
TEHRAN, (IRANART)- The Tajrobeh-No Theater Troupe directed by Asghar Khalili will be performing Noruzkhani before staging Bahram Beizai’s 1967 play “Heritage” at Tehran’s Sangelaj Theater beginning tonight.
Noruzkhani consists of performances featuring songs about Noruz (Iranian New Year) and spring.
The troupe aims to preserve and revive old Iranian traditions and celebrations.
The celebration will begin at 7 p.m. before the play goes on stage at 7:45.
“Heritage” is about three brothers who are fighting for their inheritance and will be on stage until March 14.
Habib Dehqan-Nasab, Ali Nikzad, Leila Haqqani, Hamidreza Kazemipur and Hamed Nezami are the main members of the cast for the play.
