Taraneh Alidusti, the star of Iranian filmmaker Asghar Farhadi’s acclaimed dramas “About Elly” and “The Salesman”, is the translator of the book.
“The History of Love”, is about Leo, a Polish-Jewish old man who immigrated to New York after World War II, his heart having been broken by Alma, his childhood love. Now, nearing the end of his life, Leo reflects often on the meaning of his life and on what will be left of him after he is gone.
Alidusti is also the translator of Canadian writer Alice Munro’s “My Mother’s Dream” published by Markaz Publications in 2011.
