Majid Majidi to make his first English-language film in India
Majid Majidi, the Iranian director of acclaimed movie “Muhammad (S), the Messenger of God”, is in India to study the locations for his first English-language feature film, “Floating Garden”
iranart : The film is to be shot across Mumbai, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan and Kashmir, India’s Trans Asia News Service reported on its website on January 20.
Majidi has been visiting India very frequently in order to find suitable locations.
This is a project the filmmaker decided to start nearly a decade back when he visited Kashmir.
The leaked pictures trending online show Bollywood star Deepika Padukone is up for the new project with Majidi.
Majidi’s “Children of Heaven” earned Iran’s first Oscar nomination in 1999 and his “The Song of Sparrows” was nominated for a Golden Bear award for best film at the Berlin film festival in 2008. Reza Naji won the festival’s Silver Bear for best actor for his role in the film.
“Baran”, “The Color of Paradise”, and “The Weeping Willow” are Majidi’s other noteworthy credits.
