Asghar Farhadi denies reports of collaboration with Turkish star Saadat Aksoy
TEHRAN.(Iranart) – Oscar-winning Iranian filmmaker Asghar Farhadi has denied reports that Turkish actress Saadet Aksoy will play a role in his upcoming project.
In a post sent on his official Telegram channel on Monday, he said that a cast of Spanish and Argentine actors will play in his untitled project whose shooting will begin in Spain in a few weeks.
The Oscar-winning Spanish couple Javier Bardem and Penelope Cruz and Argentine star Ricardo Darin are the main members of the cast.
Darin is scheduled to play Cruz’s husband from Buenos Aires in the family drama and psychological thriller, which will explore how the kidnapping of a young girl leads to the unraveling of family secrets, the Screen Daily reported earlier in May.
Farhadi has written the script in Persian and it has been translated into Spanish.
Pedro and Agustin Almodovar’s Madrid-based El Deseo will produce the movie.
The $12-13m project will be made as a French-Spanish-Italian co-production with Memento Films in France, Morena Films in Spain and Lucky Red in Italy.
