“Breath” director Narges Abyar awarded at Canadian festival
TEHRAN, (IRANART)- Iranian director Narges Abyar received best director award for his latest film “Breath” at the Vancouver International Women in Film Festival (VIWIFF), which was held in the Canadian city from March 8 to 12.
“Breath” is about four children whose mother had died a few years ago and whose father decides to join the Iranian volunteers on the warfront following Iraq’s attack in September 1980.
“Lutine” by director/writer Isabelle Broué from France won the awards for best film and best screenplay while “A Revolution in Four Seasons” by Jessie Deeter from the U.S. received the award for best documentary.
