Farabi director, French MP meet in Tehran
TEHRAN.(Iranart) – Iran’s Farabi Cinema Foundation said on Friday that a member of the French Parliament, Frederique Dumas, has met with the director of the foundation, Alireza Tabesh, in Tehran.
Dumas who is a Member of the Committee on Cultural Affairs and Education of the parliament said that she is in Tehran to discuss ways to collaborate on joint film productions with Iranian officials.
She praised Iran’s development and achievements in cinema and said that Iranian women have made great progress in the society, something which needs to be portrayed in Iranian films more often.
Tabesh also for his part noted that Iran is willing to cooperate with French filmmakers on joint productions.
He added that Iran’s cooperation on cinema with European countries has made good progress, and despite the adverse economic conditions in Iran, the art and culture have made great achievements in the country.
Dumas visited Tehran to hold meetings with a group of Iranian MPs.
